Much of my research the past week has included secret societies, the future of self-knowledge via the interconnection between forecasting, fortunetelling and our own phenotype, belief, interpretation, probability, characterisation, eccentricity, fairy tales, individuality and our sense of belonging. So i am now going to dive in head first and do a brief entitled “Designer Politics” that will hopefully give me a kick start for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I want to create a manifesto that encapsulates a belief or ideology and explore ways of applying these values to material culture eg. objects, services, imagery, logos, campaigns, speeches, uniform, behaviours, architectures. The brief is not to design objects based purely on appearance and style but the values that are embedded in products and expressed through their functionality.
